“Optometry offered an ever evolving profession where I could ultimately make more of a direct and immediate impact to people lives. Helping people to see all they can see and be all they can be continues to resonate.”
I graduated from the University of Auckland in 2018 with a Bachelor of Optometry with Honours. My final year externship was spent at Curtis Vision under the tutelage of the immensely respected Michael Curtis and I was incredibly pleased to be offered a position at the completion of my degree. I’ve continued to work alongside Michael as a peer and mentor since. I believe communication is key and I enjoy going the extra mile to meet my clients needs. I do my best to ensure that everyone leaves with a thorough understanding of their vision and eye health.
After graduating from the University of Auckland in 2008, I moved back to my hometown of Whangarei to join the well-known independent practice of Lowes & Partners. This was a great introduction to complex contact lens work and orthokeratology along with general optometry.
I relocated down to Christchurch in 2008 and experienced various corporate practices until joining Curtis Vision in 2018.
I fully endorse the Curtis Vision mantra of helping our customers look, see and feel great! My special interest is fitting hard contact lenses for patients with keratoconus and there is nothing more rewarding than helping someone see clearly for the first time.
When I’m not at work you’ll find me enjoying the magnificent outdoor activities that our fine region offers.
With a Bachelor of Optometry (Hons) in my hand I left New Zealand in 2014 to work in Australia in private practice. This provided me with some great experience to bring back home to NZ.
My firm focus is on providing a bespoke service to each customer, tailoring a solution to individual’s differing ocular needs. One size does definitely not fit all in our style of optometry.
Outside of work I’m a passionate skier, golfer and mountain biker and also love helping other outdoor enthusiasts with their specialty eyewear needs.
